a cure for distraction + overwhelm

Hey love!

I innocently opened an email with a catchy subject line- "free resource to gain 1.5K subscribers".

I mean, who doesn't want more email subscribers? Especially if you can boost your list for zero dollars.

Little did I know that I would spiral down a rabbit hole and lose 54-minutes of my life to researching oodles of email marketing-social media-landing page-sales funnel-organic growth- affiliate marketing strategies.

OMG...why did I open that email??? 😫

It completely derailed me from the project I was working on.

And made me feel like I must be doing something wrong in my business...

...and I need to figure out all this marketing/tech stuff pronto or I won't be able to make any damn money.

Do I need a Linktree account? How do I set that up??

Crap- I don't have a clear sales pathway and organized nurture sequence! That's going to take forever to set up!

PANIC. PANIC. PANIC.

Distraction...overwhelm...wave the little white flag and call it quits for the day.

That's how it feels when I get distracted by all the shiny objects.

Do you find yourself getting distracted and overwhelmed by all the business advice, tools, resources, suggestions, blah blah blah too?

Here's what I've learned:

In business, there are MUST HAVES and NICE TO HAVES. (Same goes for life in general.)

When your in the early stages of business (the first 1-3 years)...or you're pivoting your business...or creating a brand new offer...

...focus on the MUST HAVES and nothing else.

MUST HAVES are things like an email account, a website or landing page, and a way to collect payment.

You need those things to run your business.

You don't need a million apps...or social media accounts...or fancy software with all the bells and whistles.

Keep everything in your business as simple as possible.

When you get insanely busy, are making millions of dollars, and have a team of people, you can venture into the NICE TO HAVE territory...and let the people who work for you set all that shit up!

This is your friendly public service announcement of the day!

Money love & hugs, ($O$O$O)

P.S. Something wonderful is coming. I only talk about it once a year. You'll hear about it soon. Keep an eye on your inbox!

Hey love! Everyone knows that self-care is good for you, but what no one talks about is how self-care is also good for your business. That was a conversation I was recently part of. The Plutus Foundation asked me to be an expert speaker on the topic of mental wellness for entrepreneurs during this year’s Plutus Impact Summit. I was honored to be on a panel with two other self-care gurus for this incredible virtual event. The topic is one that’s near and dear to my heart. After all, I own and...

Hey love! You might remember me telling you about how I felt when I finally bought my dream car- a sexy, black Audi Q7. I wrote a blog post about it. Well, guess what? I just sold it. Don’t get me wrong…I loved that car. I felt successful and accomplished in it. Every time I wrapped my fingers around that smooth, leather steering wheel, a smile would cross my face. And I truly enjoyed the exceptional experience of driving a luxury vehicle. But during a money date, I realized that the Audi was...

Hey love! Here's a quick story for you. Once there was a young warrior whose teacher instructed her to battle fear. She didn’t want to do this, but the battle day came, and as she stood across from fear, she felt small and weak compared to the big, wrathful nature of fear. The young warrior took three deep breaths, slowly approached fear and asked, “May I have permission to battle with you?” Fear replied, “Thank you for showing such great respect by asking permission.” Then she asked, “How...
