Can you feel the tides of your life turning and making way for a huge financial shift? Do you crave experiencing real wealth in your life, including good health, happy relationships, self confidence, and financial stability? If the answer is an astounding “YES!”, then this blog post will help you to get ready for attracting everything you seek.
I think it’s safe to say that most people want to live a prosperous life full of joy, fulfillment, and the financial resources to do and have the things they want. I sure as hell want all that, but my life didn’t always look the way I wanted it to. For a very long time, I struggled…with my health, my finances, my relationships, and finding my purpose in life. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was self sabotaging and blocking the flow of wealth and abundance in my life.
My thoughts were all focused on lack, limitation, and clinging to possessions out of fear. I would find myself having thoughts like, “I don’t have enough money for new clothes so I need to keep all this stuff I don’t even wear anymore JUST IN CASE”. I would think to myself, “I don’t have time to sort through all this crap and get organized. I’ll just push it to the side and DEAL WITH IT LATER”. When I would have an unexpected increase in cash, I would immediately go out and spend it, thinking, “I BETTER GET MORE WHILE I CAN, because I know the money will be gone in no time”.
All these thoughts influenced my behavior. I found myself in a vicious cycle of spending money frivolously, then panicking, then skimping and saving (aka. hoarding). Repeat cycle. I felt out of control. The financial freedom, stability, and abundance I so desperately wanted seemed far out of reach. I knew I needed to make big changes, and once I realized that my actions were actually keeping my desires from entering my life, I got down to business.
I made some simple changes and everything shifted. Not only was I happier, less stressed, and more confident, but it seemed like the Universe brought me so many instances of good luck. Things just started working out and my life began to move in the direction of my dreams. Now, I’ll share with you what I did to make all the difference in my life so you can do it too.
A spending plan will become your best friend. It’s an essential tool that will help you to make decisions about where to spend your money, how much to spend on each thing, and will help you stay on track with your financial goals. If you don’t have a spending plan, you’ll continue to feel out of control and helpless. A spending plan isn’t restrictive and it doesn’t mean you can’t spend any money. Of course you’re going to spend money! It helps you to see with clarity and accuracy where you’re money is going to you can shift and adjust your spending as needed to stay in alignment with your highest priorities.
You know that thought about pushing the clutter to the side and dealing with it later that I mentioned earlier? It’s time to tackle the mess! So often, we accumulate random stuff we don’t need….random crap we don’t even like!! Do you ever look around and think, “Where did all this stuff come from? What do I even have here”? A cluttered environment is a cluttered mind, and that alone will lead to anxiety, fear, and hopelessness. It’s time to get rid of the stuff you don’t need anymore.
Perhaps you’ve heard of Marie Kondo and her world renowned method for decluttering. (I highly recommend her book, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up”. You can check it out here.) That chick is really on to something. I took her advice and started pulling out all the possessions that no longer brought me joy and discovered that the new space I created as a result was exactly what I needed in order to welcome new blessings into my life. If you’re hanging on to old crap, there’s no place for new gems.
Lasting fulfillment doesn’t come from what you can GET; it comes from what you can GIVE. Giving to others rewards you with joy and that feeling you’re making a difference in the world (which you are). Take all the possessions you’ve “decluttered” from your space and donate them to your local Salvation Army, women’s shelter, or community yard sale. You could have a garage sale yourself and donate the proceeds to a local animal shelter or food bank. Reducing clutter while helping others doubles the wealth you’ll attract in your life.
Don’t wait until you’re rich to start donating or tithing to good causes. If you aren’t willing to donate ten bucks now, you won’t be willing to donate that amount or more once your financial situation improves. You might be thinking, “But I don’t have the money to donate”. If you think you don’t have enough money, you won’t have enough money. That thought alone limits your abundance because it’s totally based on the belief that there isn’t enough in this world…and that blocks your good fortune. Shift that belief to, “I’m happy to share what I have because I know there is an endless abundance and this money will be replaced as fast as needed”. Then wait to see that money flow back into your life (usually ten fold).
Once you declutter, you’ll find you have so much more space to enjoy. This is a prime opportunity to get organized. Give every possession a home. Cherish the belongings you’ve chosen to keep by giving them their own designated place “to live”. You’ll save a tremendous amount of time by not searching for things and you’ll no longer be tidying all the time. You’ll easily be able to pickup your house here and there rather than spending whole days cleaning up. Think about what you can do with this extra time! You can relax more, spend more time with friends and family, maybe do some freelance work to make some extra cash…all of which ties into experiencing more wealth in your life.
(I wrote a blog post for my psychotherapy clients that’s devoted to the importance and benefits of decluttering and detoxing your life. If you want to know more about this topic, you can read it here.)
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get healthy. Walk more, watch TV less. Drink more water and less soda (water is FREE). Cook at home instead of hitting up the McDonald’s drive thru. Investing in your health is investing in yourself, which is the best investment you can make. If you aren’t in good health, it doesn’t matter how much money you have, how big your house is, or what kind of care you drive. If you’re sick, disabled, or dead, you won’t be able to enjoy all the abundance life has to offer, and the Universe won’t give it to someone who won’t be around long to enjoy it.
Taking care of your mind and body is critical for building wealth. Your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviors, so if you let your mind go to the gutter, you’ll feel and behave in self sabotaging ways (just like I did). Likewise, if you’re not eating nutritious foods and exercising regularly, your body and brain aren’t going to function optimally, you won’t be your best self, and as a result, you won’t manifest a prosperous life. You gotta walk the talk!
(If you need help getting your health on the right track, I know a brilliant Health Coach, Shawn Clavelle, who can transform you body and life! To learn more about Shawn or to setup a FREE 30 MINUTE CONSULT (in person or by phone), click here.)
You deserve all the joys your heart desires. You deserve wealth, prosperity, financial freedom, and lasting fulfillment. Follow these simple action steps and you’ll make way for real wealth to flow naturally into your life.
I’d love to hear about the results you get from taking action. If I can be of help as you welcome wealth into your life, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
