Rachel Rodgers has a new book on the shelves entitled, “We Should All Be Millionaires”.
Facebook and Instagram personalities bragging about their “multi-seven-figure business”.
Ugh. I’m so over it.
It’s not that being a millionaire or having a million dollar business is bad or anything…but what does that even mean?
Does it mean earning a million dollars a year? Is that gross or net? Or is it earning a million over a lifetime?
Does it mean having a million dollars worth of assets? Or property?
Are we talking about being a self-made millionaire? Or inheriting a million? Or winning a million in the lottery?
If we don’t have a good definition of what it means to be a millionaire, then how can we become one?
And, how do we know if we even WANT to be one??
Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE money. I love making money, having money, and spending money.
But I don’t need a million dollars to be happy or have an AMAZING life or to consider my business successful….and you don’t need a million dollars to have an OMG-worthy life and business either.
Now, if you really want to make a million dollars this year – that’s awesome! If you know what you’ll do with the money once you have it – fantastic! If earning that million feels sexy and pleasurable – more power to you!!
But if you like having a smaller business…with fewer people on payroll…and less taxes to pay…and less stress than you’d have managing a million bucks…
…it’s definitely great to NOT want to be a millionaire.

So, when you hear everyone telling you that you “should be a millionaire” and they’ll show you how to do it so you can join the “millionaire club”…go ahead and put your fingers in your ears and say “lalalalala”.
Do what you wanna do…want what you want…not what everyone else is saying is cool.
