Well, guess what?
I just sold it.
Don’t get me wrong… I loved that car.
I felt successful and accomplished in it. Every time I wrapped my fingers around that smooth, leather steering wheel, a smile would cross my face. And I truly enjoyed the exceptional experience of driving a luxury vehicle.
But during a money date, I realized that the Audi was costing me about $10,000 a year.
And it took premium fuel, so filling the tank hit my wallet hard.
Plus, I work from home. So, the Audi sat in the driveway a lot.
I didn’t feel like I was getting $10,000 a year of good out of it and that money could be better spent (or saved).
There was this big, beautiful motor coach parked in the lot, and we were curious to see what it looked like inside.
We stepped inside, expecting it to be like all the others we’d seen over the past couple years we’d been RV-ing, anticipating disappointment with the layout.
But it was amazing!!
A king size bed in the back. Double bunks for our kids. A huge slide out that doubled the size of the interior space. Storage space galore!
It was absolutely perfect for our family. My husband and I fell in love with it.
Yes, we had an RV and it was completely fine. But it wasn’t big enough for us to live in it for an extended period of time…
….and we really want to escape the cold, gray Pennsylvania weather this winter by spending a month in Florida.
This new RV would let us do just that!
I wasn’t willing to do that.
So, I decided to sell the Audi and put the money toward the new RV instead.
For me, the memories we’ll make together as a family in the RV far outweigh driving an expensive car a couple times a week.
Going on adventures together… visiting friends… and seeing our beautiful country means more to me than having a status symbol parked in the driveway.
The dream car… the cross-country vacation… lavish meals… the new house… ANYTHING you want.
You just can’t have it all at the same time.
I enjoyed the Audi for three years…and then I gave it up so I can enjoy the RV now.
When it comes to my money relationship, it’s give and take.
And when it comes to deciding what to spend money on, it’s all a matter of values and priorities.
At this stage of my life, my top priority is spending time with my children while they’re still with me. In just eight, short years, they’ll be off living lives of their own. Now’s the time to be together.
I’m so grateful to my money for providing me with the opportunity to spend more quality time traveling with my children.
And because I’m living in alignment with my top priorities, I don’t miss the Audi at all.
If you haven’t yet figured out how to take control of your finances and aren’t in a position to afford ANYTHING yet, let’s talk.
I can help you get there.
